John Lauro quoted Trump committing the crime of obstructing an official proceeding and conspiracy to defraud the US. Alina Habba admitted "everyone was aware" that Trump lost the 2020 election.
Also: Trump attorney Alina Habbaconfirmed yesterday that “everyone was made aware that [Trump] lost the election”. [The intellectually-challenged lawyer also stated the exact opposite. #BasesCovered] Any possible defense Trump could put forth has already been contradicted by his own (numerous) public statements, but Habba destroys one of them anyway. Her firm has been paid $1.5 million (to date) to admit that Trump committed the crimes for which he has been charged. It’s an . . . interesting . . . legal strategy.
The breaking news at this hour tonight is the astonishing news that Donald Trump’s criminal defense lawyer, John Lauro, who did a very solid and serious job in the court room today during Donald Trump’s third criminal arraignment of the year, where Donald Trump once again pleaded not guilty — that lawyer then went on television and, in effect, pleaded Donald Trump guilty to the charge of attempting to obstruct an official proceeding and conspiracy to defraud the United States.
Everyone except Donald Trump knows that criminal defendants should not speak publicly about their cases. The same is almost always true of criminal defense lawyers. The most common response from CDL to requests for interviews about their pending cases is one word: “No.”

The conversation that John Lauro just described appears on page 34 of the indictment against his client. The indictment describes the conversation as a criminal conspiracy. And the version of that conversation Donald Trump’s criminal defense lawyer delivered tonight is every bit as criminal — as the version that appears in the indictment.
