I love stuff like this: the researching, the discovery of little gems, the categorizing, etc. I’ve done similar research, mostly for myself, although I did post a running list of every time Trump referred to the influenza epidemic of 1918, but said the year 1917. He made that mistake at least 61 times, including 34 times during the month of April 2020. This would have been a great job for me, especially since Media Matters must have access to transcripts of everything.
200+ Things That Fox . . . Has Labeled “Woke”
Helena Hind, Alicia Sadowski and Jane Lee, with research contributions from Katherine Abughazaleh and Isabella Corrao, Media Matters, June 8, 2023
[Fox is] obsessed with “wokeness.” . . . Since . . . May 2020, Fox [has] . . . applied the label “woke” to a staggeringly wide array of topics. . . .
Fox personalities struggle to define “woke” because they have attributed the term to nearly everything under the sun, stripping it of any meaningful definition and surrendering it to right-wing dog whistles. In doing so, Fox . . . has solidified the word’s status as a derisive catch-all for anything involving marginalized groups or progressive policies, arguably increasing its effectiveness as a means of inspiring outrage among its audience.
