Where Are The Stories About The Children Who Overdosed On Fentanyl-Spiked Halloween Candy?
Could it all have been bullshit?
“Rainbow Fentanyl” was the “Border Caravans” of “The Laptop From Hell”.
From August 30 through November 1, Fox News personalities and guests baselessly claimed 80 times that Halloween trick-or-treaters faced the imminent danger of having so-called rainbow fentanyl dropped into their candy buckets. However, reports from Vice News’ Keegan Hamilton and Washington Post media reporter Paul Farhi found that there was not a single story confirming that children in the U.S. received fentanyl while celebrating Halloween.
0-for-80 is a poor batting average.

There were 1,542 news stories about “rainbow fentanyl” in the two months before Halloween, most warning that dealers could slip this drug to trick-or-treating kids.
There hasn’t been a single story today confirming this happened anywhere in the U.S.

There were over 1,400 stories in the media about fentanyl being in Halloween candy this year. The most active pusher of this story was Ronna McDaniel.

Stayed up late to monitor reports from the emergency rooms about all the little boppers OD’ing on rainbow fentanyl, but we don’t seem to be receiving any.

Zero reports of a single incident of children’s candy from Halloween being laced with fentanyl. Not a single one.
It’s almost as if drug dealers and cartels actually don’t give away free drugs to 5 year olds dressed up like Blippy and it was all just right-wing fear mongering.

We can't find any reports of kids OD'ing on fentanyl disguised as Halloween candy.
We can't find any reports of politicians apologizing for spreading this lie.

@farhip @chrislhayes Guy sticks a banana in his nose.
Friend: Why are you doing that?
Guy: To keep the elephants away
Friend: But there are no elephants around here
Guy: See it's working
Republicans will take credit for scaring the drug dealers into not doing it, when it wasn't ever going to happen.
