We may have to have a cross Atlantic arm wrestle about this. Opinion being subjective and what have you I think Let It Bleed is The Stones best LP. That's a tall order cutting the tracks in half of a loved LP. I don't really do favourites. I could get it down to about 30 probably. You have made me want to give EOMS a listen as it's been a while.
Well, they hardly took a single misstep while creating Beggars Banquet, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile (& Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out) -- and several excellent outtakes could (and should) have been developed and released.
I can't vote for Let It Bleed, because I dislike "You Can't Always Get What You Want". Maybe it's due to hearing it too much decades ago on the radio, but I'm not a fan. There is nothing wrong with the album's other eight songs.
I've never been a great listener to mainstream radio. I do listen to it online now as the choice is mind boggling. I have an occasional listen to BBC6. That run of albums is quite good , isn't it ?
I just re-read this post. I love it. Random note: the Keith In Tower Records story would be so different today, with cell phones and selfies. I love that a stranger sent you a printed photo in the paper mail.

Lovely British understatement.
